What Is Deep Anglicanism?

A 13-Session Core Track

Deep Anglicanism Explored is a group study guide and companion to Gerald R. McDermott’s Deep Anglicanism: A Brief Guide. Across thirteen sessions, participants examine the historic faith, worship, and spiritual life that shape the Anglican way.

The study explores Anglican liturgy and the Daily Office, the Book of Common Prayer, Anglican spirituality, the sacraments and Holy Eucharist, the marks of the Church, apostolic ministry, and Anglicanism as a re-formed catholic home.

Designed for parish formation and small-group conversation, the Core Track welcomes thoughtful participation from Anglicans, newcomers, and Christians from other traditions.

How the Study Works

Read, Reflect, and Discuss

Before each Tuesday meeting, participants read the assigned chapter and consider the reflection questions in the companion guide.

  • Meet for 60 minutes on Zoom
  • Discuss the chapter through facilitator-led questions
  • Reflect on Anglican belief and practice
  • Close with prayer, including collects from the 1928 Book of Common Prayer

Fr. Mark Shields and Deacon Jonah Saller facilitate the conversation. The meetings are not lectures; they are designed for honest, theologically grounded discussion.
